Nipsey Hussle Fans Show Love to His First Baby Mama Tanisha Asghedom After Noticing Her Absence at His Memorial

Thousands of people gathered Thursday (Apr. 11) to celebrate the life of Nipsey Hussle, but there was one person notably missing: Tanisha Asghedom, the mother of Hussle’s firstborn.

Several members of Hussle’s family took to the stage at the Staples Center to remember the fallen rapper, including his sister, his longtime girlfriend Lauren London and their 2-year-old son, Kross, London’s son with Lil Wayne, Kameron, and Hussle’s oldest child, Emani.

Emani is the daughter Hussle shared with Asghedom (aka Chyna Hussle).

As Emani seemed too overcome with emotion to speak at her father’s memorial, many fans noticed her mother wasn’t onstage with the rest of the family to comfort the young girl.

Asghedom and Hussle—whose birth name is Ermias Asghedom—were in a serious relationship for several years before the rapper began dating London in 2013.

The couple was so close that Tanisha took on Hussle’s last name, though they were never married. She also adopted his stage name, choosing to go by “Chyna Hussle.”

Grieving girlfriend London has received much public support, but some feel Asghedom’s grief has been mostly ignored. Especially given her absence from the memorial, thoughtful fans have offered her support and their condolences through social media.

London and Asghedom have not had the best relationship in the past. Asghedom has even insinuated that she and Hussle never officially broke up, and in 2014, she taunted London on Twitter stating that Hussle had recently professed his love to her.

Nevertheless, one would hope that this would not be a reason to prevent the mother of Hussle’s first child to attend his memorial service, if not just to console their daughter.

Asghedom has not publicly commented on posted on social media since Hussle was killed outside his LA clothing store on March 31st.

50 Cent Roasts Floyd Mayweather for Getting Called “Chicken” by Woman in the Philippines

50 Cent is on a roll when it comes to trolling his enemies.

In between taunting Teairra Mari over the $30K she owes him and calling Wendy Williams a crackhead every other day, Mr. Curtis Jackson is also somehow finding time to roast his friend turned foe, Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather was recently seen in a video from his trip to the Philippines going down an escalator with his team, waving to fans, and all of a sudden, a woman comes out of nowhere calling Mayweather a “chicken.”

“I don’t like you! A chicken! You a chicken! I hate you!” the woman says.

The footage somehow got to 50 Cent, and well, you already know what happened next.

“hahaha ni**a thought he was Obama for a minute till he heard what she said,” Fifty captioned the video he posted on his Instagram Wednesday (Apr. 10). “LOL I DON’T LIKE YOU,CHICKEN YOU A CHICKEN I HATE YOU #lecheminduroi #bransonco”

Fifty trolled Mayweather last week after his ex-fiancée Shantel Jackskon accused the pro boxer of stealing $3 million worth of jewelry from her and filed a lawsuit against him.

With all of this trolling, when does he have time to sleep?

How The Rise of Skywalker Can Find Balance Between Star Wars‘s Legacy and the Future.

Rey and Kylo Ren in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

In the immediate Twitter aftermath of the title of the final Skywalker Saga film, The Rise of Skywalker, being released, I noticed some worries that the film would retcon The Last Jedi in some way, shape, or form. The use of Skywalker in the title, the return of classic villain Palpatine… it could seem as though director JJ Abrams is returning to the past and relying on that dreaded concept of fanservice to calm frazzled nerves after The Last Jedi.

I disagree, as much as my feelings on The Last Jedi are as conflicted as possible. After re-watching the trailer more times than was probably healthy and spending a day analyzing the title and trailer, I think this perfectly continues what both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi started. It balances between the idea of the past as something that we should honor but move beyond.

The Force Awakens was all about those legacy feelings. Kylo Ren was fixated on emulating his grandfather Anakin Skywalker; he dresses like Darth Vader, complete with a mask, and speaks to the burnt Vader helmet as he begs his grandfather to show him what to do. On the flip side, the Skywalker saber calls to Rey; “that lightsaber was Luke’s, and his father’s before him, and now it calls to you” Maz Kanata tells Rey, before reminding her gently that the belonging she seeks is not behind her, but rather ahead. The entire film is about Luke Skywalker’s legacy and why it’s of paramount importance to find him and bring him back to the Resistance.

The Last Jedi subverts those legacy ideas by challenging the idea that Rey had to come from somewhere to be important. Kylo Ren, the child of Leia Organa and the grandchild of Anakin Skywalker, is the Dark Side incarnate; Rey, the child from nowhere is his equal in the Light. Luke Skywalker talks mockingly of his own legend and how he failed, and in a deleted scene Rey screams at him about how those legends meant something to her growing up.

In one of the later scenes, Kylo tells Rey to “let the past die… to kill it if you have to.” He says they must let it all die—the Jedi, Sith, and Resistance—in order to rule the galaxy. Rey rejects this, and later helps the Resistance escape as Luke Skywalker embodies his legend one last time to make the ultimate sacrifice. He says he will not be the last Jedi, but that might not be the case.

We’ve talked about Skywalker possibly being the new term for Force users in a previous post; it’s worth noting that in tie-in novel Thrawn: Alliances, it’s revealed that the Chiss alien species refers to their Force sensitives as Skywalkers. By taking on the name Skywalker as a mantle meaning “Force user” or even “hero,” Rey is honoring Luke and his life and sacrifice while moving past the binary of Jedi and Sith as a title. This isn’t to say there won’t be good and evil, but we might be abandoning the titles of the past in favor of something new.

Luke says in the trailer. “We’ve passed on all we know. A thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight.” He also says “we’ll always be with you. No one’s ever really gone.” This to me is the balance between the legacy of The Force Awakens and Kylo’s line in The Last Jedi. Luke, and those who have come before, will always be with both characters and audiences, and their legacy will live on. But it’s also time for a new hero to rise, and a new generation to take charge. They cannot let the past fight their battles for them.

There is a way to tell a story about honoring the past while still learning and moving past it. The prequels was about Anakin’s inescapable destiny, and the originals about Luke and his father’s legacy. The key line in the originals is “I am a Jedi, like my father before me.” The sequels, which need to close out a saga about legacies, have to find a new take that isn’t either tragedy or following in one’s father’s footsteps. Something must change, otherwise we’ll get nine more films about the Skywalkers getting into mayhem.

The Force Awakens novelization opens with a poem from the Journal of the Whills, which reads:

First comes the day
Then comes the night.
After the darkness
Shines through the light.
The difference, they say,
Is only made right
By the resolving of gray
Through refined Jedi sight.

The first film ends on triumph, the second has a darker ending which has a light shining through in the form of Leia’s last line and the future of the Force being represented via a child on Canto Bight. Rey has learned so much on her journey, and now has the emotional maturity and tools to resolve the grey by doing away with the ideas of the past and seeing a future that her predecessors never would have seen.

Of course, I could be wrong and Abrams could find a way to retcon everything.. However, I have hope that the way this film seems to be headed, based on what little we do know, that it will be a perfect conclusion to the sequel trilogy and will have it’s own twists without necessarily undoing anything established in a previous film. Balance seems to be key, everyone.

We’re Ready to Cry Over Netflix’s Adaptation of Tales of the City

Laura Linney stars as Mary Ann Singleton in the upcoming miniseries Tales of the City.

Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis are back at 28 Barbary Lane. Netflix has dropped the first trailer for their upcoming miniseries Tales of the City, inspired by Armistead Maupin’s books and the 1993 PBS adaptation that also starred Linney as Mary Ann Singleton and Dukakis as Anna Madrigal. The new series will also star Ellen Page as Shawna, Mary Ann’s daughter. If the first trailer is anything to go by, we’re going to be crying a lot when the series drops.

The original Tales of the City followed Mary Anne after she left her daughter and husband and moved to San Francisco to pursue her career. She lived on 28 Barbary Lane with landlord Anna and gay, queer, and trans housemates who ultimately helped Mary Ann find herself and grow as a person.

The Netflix series is set twenty years after this adaptation; the synopsis reads, via IndieWire, that Mary Anne will come back to “present-day San Francisco, where she is reunited with her daughter Shawna (Ellen Page) and ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross), twenty years after leaving them behind to pursue her career. Fleeing the midlife crisis that her picture-perfect Connecticut life created, Mary Ann is quickly drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal (Dukakis), her chosen family and a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.”

I’m already crying based on the trailer, set to the stirring sounds of Antony and the Johnson’s “Today I Am A Boy.” This is exactly the queer narrative I want to see more of.

I am always down for found family stories, but stories of those in the LGBTQ community finding home and family together appeals to a special place in my heart. This looks to be an uplifting story of found families as well, rather than one marked by grief and sorrow. LGBTQ audiences deserve to see themselves in powerful, uplifting stories, rather than in a constant state of tragedy.

I’m also incredibly excited for Page’s turn as Shawna, a lesbian who strikes up a relationship with a character played by former Girls star  Zosia Mamet. Page is a wonderful actress and I cannot wait to see her shine in this role alongside Linney, another favorite of mine. Their scenes are sure to be powerful.

Overall, this looks like a series that will focus more on uplifting the LGBTQ characters at the heart of the story rather than make them tragic archetypes. It’s important to tell queer stories beyond tragedy, and an uplifting dramedy centered on found families and finding yourself seems like the perfect vehicle to continue to explore new narratives. I cannot wait for this series, which drops June 7, and I’m sure I’ll need to stock up on tissues as I cry my way through the show.

Things We Saw Today: Patty Jenkins and Ryan Murphy Tease Each Other Over Matching Wonder Woman and AHS Titles

Wonder Woman 1984 and American Horror Story: 1984 creators bicker over a shared title.

George Orwell made 1984 a well-known title with his dystopian novel, but the year itself is now featured as a title in several modern works. Patty Jenkins’s follow up to Wonder Woman is titled Wonder Woman 1984, and now Ryan Murphy is giving us a slasher film inspired season of American Horror Story also titled AHS: 1984.

Jenkins took to Twitter to gently mock Murphy for that familiar sounding title, and Murphy replied with a similarly teasing tweet.

It’s all in good fun, though it is a funny coincidence that both are going to the eighties. There’s room for Orwellian-sounding titles in both the superhero and horror genres, even if neither will borrow from that famous novel itself (we think).

Maybe once they’re done fighting Cheetah, Diana and Steve can hop on over to the AHS-verse and kick some serial killer ass. I’m sure that fanfiction will exist sooner rather than later.

Strictly star Neil Jones reveals how his mum’s advice helped him get over THAT kiss with wife Katya and comedian Seann Walsh

The couple will be performing their love story on stage together

Katya Jones and husband Neil Jones
Pride of Britain Awards, Grosvenor House, London, UK – 29 Oct 2018
The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, will broadcast on ITV on 6th November at 8pm

Fans went into meltdown last year when married Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones was pictured sharing a kiss with someone other than her husband Neil.

The infamous Strictly curse had struck again, as photographs emerged of the Russian dancer, 29, locking lips with her dance partner comedian Seann Walsh

Seann’s girlfriend immediately dumped him, as she shared an angry open letter about her rubbish ex, and the story  hit headlines nationwide.

But Katya and Neil didn’t let it affect their marriage, as they put on a united front.

Now six months on, the couple – who have been married six years and have been together just over a decade – have spoken about how they managed to put the kiss behind them.

‘It was a shock,’ Neil explained of the kiss.

‘And we had to work it out between ourselves, to understand what had happened.’

Although hurt, the 36-year-old says he wasn’t going to let the incident affect all they’d shared together, saying: ‘I wasn’t going to allow that one little thing to get in the way of ten very happy years,’ he added.

He continued: ‘People have said to me: “Why didn’t you feel this? Why didn’t you say that?” For me, the initial reaction was to stay calm.

‘I didn’t want to run around in a panic, because that’s not me. I’m private. I’m also quite positive. I wanted to speak to Katya – we had to sort it out privately.’

Neil says it was his mum who urged him to not overreact.

‘Mum always said people make mistakes, and you have to be understanding,’ he explaine.

‘It was a mistake, and we’re here now, together, moving on. We’re passionate people. But there was understanding too. I’m from a divorced family. I’ve seen things like this.’

Now as they’re set to perform in a show about their very own love story – which Neil wrote –  the couple appear to be stronger than ever, with Katya insisting they’ve got their ‘trust’ back.

‘I apologised when it happened, and I’m happy to apologise again now,’ Katya said.

‘I made a mistake, but I don’t want that one mistake to jeopardise everything we’ve built. And it hasn’t.’

She addeed: ‘We have our trust back,’ to which Neil agreed: ‘Oh, 100 per cent. I wouldn’t be sitting here if there wasn’t trust.’

Glad to see the couple are back to normal!

Gemma Collins reveals she now has EIGHT bodyguards after being ‘mobbed’ by fans and stalker

The reality TV star recently revealed she’d been hounded by a stalker

gemma collins

There’s no denying Gemma Collins has become quite the Queen of reality TV over the last few years.

Since rising to fame on The Only Way is Essex in 2011, the blonde bombshell has definitely made her mark, appearing on many other shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Masterchef and most recently, Dancing on Ice earlier this year.

But her soaring fame might have cost her her safety, as the 38-year-old has revealed she now needs a bodyguard to protect her from being mobbed by fans.

Speaking to fellow TOWIE star Bobby Norris at the Jog On To Cancer charity event this week, Gemma explained how her increased popularity  has left her in need of extra protection from ‘frantic crowds’.

On one occasion, she even had to get eight bodyguards to form a ‘protective’ around her during an appearance in a nightclub where she almost got ‘crushed’ by fans.

‘Dancing On Ice was great and amazing but you know, showbiz moves quick. I still do love TOWIE and I watch as a viewer but life is so busy,’ she said.

‘I have a bodyguard with me as I get mobbed so often I need someone to keep an eye on me.

‘I need security – the crowds have got bigger and bigger. The last time I turned up at a nightclub there was a crowd crush and I needed Sid and seven bouncers to form a protective circle around me.’

The extra protection comes after Gemma revealed she’d been hounded by a stalker who had previously fat shamed her.

In November, a video emerged of two men calling the reality TV star a ‘fat c**t’ as she enjoyed a cafe lunch outside.

And Gemma recently took to Instagram to share several pictures  and videos of a man walking up and down a street opposite to hers.

‘Do you all remember that shocking video of two boys horrifically ABUSING ME well I am now petrified for my LIFE he has now found my home I AM SCARED FOR MY LIFE,’ she captioned the post.

‘I am so grateful for how amazing the police have been I am actually scared for my life ….. has been here since SATURDAY why would you abuse someone then find out where they live and make them petrified I can’t leave my home through FEAR….. I don’t feel safe and I feel very THREATENED and UNSAFE.’ (sic)

According to an insider, Gemma  – who is in a relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent, 31 – is now hoping to ‘move on’ from the ordeal after buying a new house.

‘Gemma has bought a new house. She is ready to move on. It’s a new chapter in her life now and she’s excited about it,’ the source told The Sun.

‘She has been in a gated community for a while and I’m not sure if they have improved security since her ordeal with the stalker. Either way, she is moving on.’

We hope you’re ok, Gem!

Wendy Williams’ Husband Kevin Hunter Bought His Mistress a Gold Ferrari With Wendy’s Money (Report)

Wendy Williams’ cheating husband has absolutely no shame. (As if we already didn’t know.)

In the days and weeks before he was slapped with divorce papers, Kevin Hunter and his mistress were spotted flaunting lavish gifts and expensive cars he bought with his wife’s money!

While the talk show host was in upstate New York camping with friends from her sober house, her husband was taking his lover, Sharina Hudson, to dinner on Saturday (Apr. 6) in Edgewater New Jersey, rolling around in his new maroon Rolls-Royce.

Daily Mail reports Hudson donned a diamond chain necklace, matching diamond studs, and a $5,200 quilted Chanel purse. Meanwhile, Hunter rocked a full Fendi outfit, with an estimated $3,275 price tag.

Hunter also reportedly bought Hudson a luxury car as well. The new mom was seen on Monday (Apr. 8) stepping out of a new gold Ferrari Portofino, base price $215,000. She also wore a $1,260 Thom Browne tracksuit. She clearly looked like someone who recently gave birth.

Hunter and Hudson have reportedly been staying at a “secret hideaway” since she allegedly gave birth to their daughter last month. They were spotted carrying groceries from Whole Foods on Sunday (Apr. 7).

Prior to Williams filing for divorce, Hunter had repeatedly explained to Hudson that he couldn’t leave his wife because she pays all of his bills and funds the luxurious lifestyle he has with Hudson.

Radar Online reports that Hunter is now demanding $10 million from the divorce settlement. Williams has an estimated net worth of $60 million.

Daily Mail exposed Hunter and Hudson’s decade-long affair in 2017. Sources say that Hudson is ready to settle down and start a family with Hunter.

After months of speculation, Williams filed for divorce earlier this week, ending her 21-year marriage to Hunter. The two share an 18-year-old son together.
